Size: 12" x 16" including mat...Condition: Excellent === Nice photo of the Dewey Triumphal Arch with a horse drawn carriage passing beneath it. This arch was erected in New York City at 5th Avenue and Madison Square in 1899 as a temporary structure to be used in welcoming Admiral Dewey home after his victory in Manilla Bay. It was later dismantled and sent to Charleston, So. Carolina to be used in an exhibition there and was lost. How do you lose something this big--even if it is in pieces? All the detail, including the flowery inscription, are clearly shown.
