THE FILLMORE EAST GRATEFUL DEAD PHOTO BY A. R. ROTHSCHILD ALONG WITH HER AUTOGRAPHED MEMOIR ENTITLED LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST ( WITH FOREWARD BY MICKEY HART) Up for auction is simply a piece of rock and roll history -- anyone whom has every had the pleasure of going to concerts and hanging out at both of the Fillmore's -- East and West knows what I am talking about. Technically, this is a limited edition black and white Silver Gelatin photo print captured by Amalie R. Rothschild (#16 of 250) in her role as unofficial house photographer on the evening of January 2nd, 1970 as the Grateful Dead performed live at the Fillmore East on the Lower East side of Manhattan. It is extremely large, with the image measuring 23" x 16" and the framed dimensions being 30" x 26". January 2nd, 1970 . . . The "Perfect Storm" when the new decade usd in both hope and trepidation, Bill Graham was genius, the venue was intimate, the Lower East side was trying to catch up to the West Coast music scene, the Dead was well the Dead, and Amalie R. Rothschild as house photographer was still the Hall of Famer that she is and was going to be . . .
