THIS IS THE KIMONO PIE BIRD BY TEXAS ARTIST, ANGELA ROGERS. Hello folks and welcome to this week's auction of another wonderful pie bird by Angela Rogers. I have to say that this one is a true joy to see up close and I will try to give you one up close picture this time. This is another original design by this talented artist and it is something to want for your collection. I know the pictures will not do it justice for it has some color blending that is very subtle. But, what I love the most is all the fine detail figures on the Kimono. I cannot imagine how long it took to do the feathers let alone the little detailed figures on the Kimono front and back. Of course, sine this is a handmade and handpainted piece, t might be some slight imperfections. This fine high fired porcelain piece is handpainted and fully glazed inside and out. The inside glaze is a lovely peach color. Speaking of colors, just look at the feathers. I cannot describe the blending from blue to light teal blue with the dark blue edges to each feather. The comb is yellow with little red dots. The beak is orange and the eyes are yellow with a swash of black. Did you catch that big red sash tied in a bow in the back? This piece stands about 4 and 1/2 inches tall. It is signed and dated 2005 and marked as the #2 piece made from the original mold. High bidder pays read more
