We are offering, a framed and matted print of "The Progress of Motor Car 1828". The print is a simply wonderful rendition of numerous antique wheeled vehicles with numerous people dressed in costumes of the very early 1800's. The graphics are marvelous, and in some instances quite funny (with a depiction of a gentlemen falling out of a motor car, *see bottom left). It appears to be hand colored, in muted soft earth tones with very muted shades of blue and pale salmon on the dresses and mens attire. The more you study it, the more the graphics are hilarious. This is a must see, in person!
The frame is extremely old, black with a gold leaf inner border. Does show much wear. The outer border had been done in gold leaf, but not much of it remains. No missing pieces of wood on the frame, just much worn. Measurements: Frame, 20 1/4" by 16 3/4". Print, 13 3/4" by 10". There is some minor water staining on the bottom portion of the ivory matting, so it will have to be rematted. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE. We are EBAY SELLER "traderslostart." We are known as Traders of the Lost Art. A nine year old New Hampshire business; selling an eclectic mix of Furniture, Pottery, Fine Collectables, Quilts, Linens, Jewelry, Antique & Vintage Oils and Prints, and many unique items!
