This is an original 11" by 14" lobby card movie poster for the 1940 Paramount Pictures comedy classic The Road to Singapore! The very first teaming of Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Dorothy Lamour in the Road to Singapore! The prototype Road film comedy, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby two conman playboys Joshua Mallon V and Ace Lannigan trying to get away from women, but they arrive in Kaigoon on the Road to Singapore and meet the lovely Mima played by Dorothy Lamour, Junior we go again, WE"RE OFF ON THE ROAD TO MOROCCO.....(one of the popular followup films, but it was Road to Singapore that was the first!). Charles Coburn, Judith Barrett, Anthony Quinn, and Jerry Colonna head up the supporting cast! Lobby cards were issued way back when to movie theatres in sets of 8 to help market and promote the film, they are very popular and collectible! This one is not numbered, it features a GREAT shot of Bing Crosby & Bob Hope, on the Road to Singapore!! The lobby is in generally very good to fine condition for a vintage lobby, corner tackholes, hard to see censors stamp top left, some border wear/smudging in spots, but no major problems per se, some yellowing with age, images are TERRIFIC, overall a great vintage lobby!
