You are bidding on an extremely rare fireless cooker from The Diller Mfg. Company Bluffton, Ohio. This cooker was Manufactured around 1918. It is complete with the original round cooking stone, metal rack, three cooking vessels, and the original thermometer. The box has its original wheels. The orignial instructions are still partially attached to the bottom of the cooker. The top is made from 1/4 sawn oak and has not been refinnished. The box itself has the origninal paint. Overall excellent patina. The lid and latching mechanisms are in excellent conditon and the box fits togheter nicely. Fireless cookers were an effiecint way to cook soups, rice, potatoes. They were popular in the early 1900's. I have not seen a fireless cooker listed on ebay but t have been some cookbooks sold. The Stone is in three pieces and I do not think the thermometer works. Other than that the cooker appears to be in excellent condition considering it's age.
