Thomas Hart Benton and Harry Truman Signatures with Personal Salutations These guaranteed authentic signatures are on an article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch magazine dated Sunday, January 8, 1961 . The article describes the ' Independence and the Opening of the West' mural that Thomas Hart Benton painted at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence , Missouri . The article features a large picture of the mural with former President Harry S. Truman standing in the foreground admiring the magnificent work of art. The inscriptions read; 'A great mural', (signed) Harry Truman and 'A great president' (signed) Thomas H. Benton. This is a great piece of history with two tvery houghtful, personal inscriptions by two of the most admired Americans of their time. For ultimate protection, the article has been laminated and professionally framed with acid free matting and backing behind UV protective glass. The frame measures 24 by 14½ inches. The article measures approximately 21 by 11 inches. Unless other arrangements are desired by the buyer, it will be shipped via UPS with custom built material to protect it from damage. Schrepfer who was the Truman Library official photographer from the opening of the library until his retirement in 1977. · A vintage postcard of the mural from the Truman Library. · A 1960 four page article describing the mural and artist while it was a work in progress. · A Fourteen page brochure with an embossed front cover that tells the story behind the mural and Benton 's thoughts of what he wanted to portray. T is a short bio of the artist along with numerous photos of him during the three years he worked on the mural and a fold-out color photograph of the mural. The brochure measures 8½ by 11 inches.
