THOMAS JEFFERSON BUST Classic replica of Houdon's famous bust of Thomas Jefferson. This wonderful statue was made from cold cast bronze (see explanation below). Its measurements in inches are 8W x 5D x 12.5H. 16lbs. Cold cast bronze is a phrase used to describe a casting technique in which bronze powder is suspended in a resin mix. This is then poured into a silicon mould within a fibreglass jacket. Following a chemical reaction the statue sets. Often a statue is cast in many pieces, these are then bonded together using a bronze resin mix. The statue is then de-seamed, re-worked w necessary and then sanded and wire wooled to bring out the luster of the bronze.
