Thom's Directory of Ireland 1865 This is a very rare Irish directory. It begins with directories of the organisations and institutions in Ireland with the names of their principal officers including government departments, univerisities, literary and scientific institutions, registered medical practitioners, banking directory, law directory and railway companies. This section is followed by a Dublin directory, starting with a directory of organisations and institutions. Next is a street directory, giving the names of the residents of Dublin, street by street, then a directory organised by village or parish, of the county of Dublin. An alphabetical directory of the "nobility, gentry, merchants, traders and public officers" of the city of Dublin and suburbs follows, then a trades directory, arranged by trade or profession. Condition: Original cover is missing, has at some point been given a card cover, which is completely loose. Volume is disbound, all pages are loose. Title page is missing. pages are very browned and in some cases grubby. There are 10 pages (page 403-412, end of streets directory and beginning of County Dublin directory) that are torn at the bottom with some of the text missing.
