This sitting stool approximates Michael Thonet's Chair no.14 (Cafe Chair) without a seat back. It was produced in Austria. The exact time period is unknown--somewhere between 1856 and 1955. According to the label, this piece was vendored in NYC.
Constructed of Beechwood, the stool measures 13.75" diameter by 18.5" high. Very lightweight (4.5 lbs). Suitable for a contemporary vanity, or as a piano stool, or an artist's modeling stool. Good condition. No damage. Even wear. Excellent caning. Original paper tag (see image)
