a hollow-cut silhouette of a gentleman having his hair and shirt ruffle embellished with ink, bearing the embossed Peale`s Museum eagle trademark. Verso bears an ink inscription Property of Miss Mary Clay Bolton, Mechanics and Metals Bank 204 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Has been tipped to a later backing board and placed in a black painted frame (probably in the 1920s); 3.75` x 4.88` (image); 5.75` x 7.25` (w/frame). Another gentleman having his hair and shirt ruffle embellished with ink; 5.50` x 6.75` (w/frame). Another gentleman with embossed Peale`s Museum eagle trademark; verso with an ink inscription Property of Miss Mary Clay Bolton, Mechanics and Metals Bank 204 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Has been tipped to a later backing board and placed in a black painted frame (probably in the 1920s); 3.75` x 4.88` (image); 5.75` x 7.25` (w/frame). PLUS, a hollow-cut silhouette of George Douglas and bearing the embossed MUSEUM trademark; annotated in Clay`s hand as follows: below the portrait, in ink is George Douglas plus cut at Peale`s Museum, Philadelphia 1825 at the upper left. Verso bears an ink inscription Property of Miss Mary Clay Bolton, Mechanics and Metals Bank 204 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Has been tipped to a later backing board (probably in the 1920s); unframed.
