I have been retained by the Hughes Estate to exclusively sell for them over the coming months. Mr. Hughes was a filmmaker for almost forty years and traveled the world making over 200 films! Upon retiring he returned to his boyhood home of Indianapolis and began revisiting places from his past. At this time he also began collecting extensively mainly related to his profession, but he also collected art, books, toys, racing and much more all of which reflected in some way his love of movies and childhood memories. This is a rare and extensive collection and I am honored to assist the family and ensure that these items are appreciated for years to come!! This lot of vintage readers is three "The Alice and Jerry Books": Happy Days--1938 1st edition, Here and There 1941--both of these are paperbacks and measure 5 7/8" x 7 5/8" in size and are in very nice condition with very little wear all pages intact. Completing this lot is one hardback "If I Were Going" 1941 this one near mint condition! It measures 5 7/8" x 8" in size. All of these books are collectible in their own right but due to large amount of items in the Estate you get all three!! Be sure to ask any questions prior to bidding.
