Three Wooden Relics From Early American Wars

all collected in the mid-to-late 19th century by a Dr. Ross of Ohio, includes 3 slivers of wood attached to card stock labeled Pieces of the old Belfry, Independence Hall, Phila. Procured 1864, all less than 1" long, PLUS a piece of oak labeled 233 from Flag Ship Niagara, Perry's Flag Ship during the battle of Lake Erie, sunk by the British, 3" long, AND a slice of a wooden flag pole with printed paper label that reads in part Richmond Va. May 20, 1890, I, C.L. Parker, hereby certify that this block once formed a part of the flag-pole that is said to have held the Confederate flag that floated over the Confederate Congress. This pole was cut down as being unfit for use on account of being warped or crooked and this block was cut from it. In smaller print is an 8 line printed sworn statement as to the truth of the above from one C. Lee Moore, a notary in the City of Richmond, 4.5" diameter. > Condition: All VG.
