Thrilling Wonder Stories - 1940-47 Lot of 15 Issues (Pulps) My initial interest and pursuit of collecting pulps was to obtain the otherwise, unpublished material of favorite science fiction, horror & fantasy writers. As a graphic artist, the covers and interior art was another factor for their appeal. Henry Kuttner, Edmond Hamilton, Arthur Burks, Ray Cummings, Manly Wade Wellman (a nice gentleman I once had the opportunity to meet) and Murray Leinster are some of the writers that are prominent during this period of Thrilling Wonder. From 1930-1936, this pulp was known as Wonder Stories. I have listed some of the authors in most of the issues below. All also have other authors & storie as well as articles. I have also mentioned the major defects of the pulps. Thrilling Wonder Stories Sept 1940 Authors include Arthur Burks (novel), Ray Cummings and Edmond Hamilton. Front cover has several creases, back cover has more including edge tears. Front cover would still be very nice if not for the bottom right corner missing. Small piece of the corner left bottom from the back cover missing. About a 2” flap tear at the bottom right bottom corner. Spine is complete with several crease ‘tears’. Supple pages. Thrilling Wonder Stories Nov 1940 Authors include Henry Kuttner and Arthur Burks. Various light wear, small tear at the top left. read more
