Also known as meditation bowls, their sound vibration aids concentration,Created by artisans of Nepal in a mud and sand dye, the melted brass is formed into a bowl shape. Seven recovered scrap metals make up this brass, so that nothing new is taken from the environment during production. Each is finished to a brilliant gloss by a laborious hand polishing process called sand casting. These bowls are made by the Shakya, Bajracharya, and Tamrakar castes,known throughout Nepal for their artisan traditions. For collecting or meditation, a singing bowl brings a calming Buddhist influence. While made of metal, these bowls will break if dropped.
