This is a nice sterling silver tazza or compote (comport) by Tiffany and Company, circa 1890's. The piece is 7" in diameter, 3" tall, and has a base that measures 2 5/8" in diameter. The tazza weighs 200 grams/6.4 ozT. The piece is hallmarked and carries the T date stamp on the bottom for 1891-1902. The outer border is made up of leaves and roses in various states of bloom all composing a really lovely pierce work border. The base of the piece has the same applied border of roses and leaves. The tazza has one ding that is made up of a line approx 3/4" long- toward the outer border. The innermost area of the tazza has had a circular repair which looks like an attempt was made to downplay it by engraving a series of leaves in a circular area. Appropriate silver solder looks to have been used underneath. This is really a lovely piece, repair aside, and if used to display anything at all, the injured portion would not show.
