TIFFANY & CO STERLING TRAYELSBETH PABST ESTATENO RESERVE***GUARANTEED AS DESCRIBED is a small, but heavy, sterling Tiffany tray recently acquired from one of the heirs of the Elsbeth Papst estate. Styled in such a way that it would work in either an Arts and Crafts or Art Deco setting. It is a fairly simple tray, possibly for butter, 6 1/2" long, 3" wide, almost 1/2" high and weighs about 105 grams--3.3 troy ounces. Elsbeth's initials are the monogram. Condition is excellent with very little signs of use--a couple of minor dings and a few small spots to polish. The back is incised with the mark in use from 1907-47, but I believe the pattern number is from the 20's. Briefly, Elsbeth Pabst (1890-1960) was the adopted "grandaughter" of Frederick and Maria Pabst of Milwaukee's Pabst Beer fame. They raised her as their daughter and lavished her with all they could. Today she is remembered at the Pabst Mansion in Milwaukee, w a room is named after her. In 1913 she married Douglas Parmentier and they went on to become one of New York's High Society families. (I believe Douglas retired as President of the Harper publishing firm). NO RESERVE so please bid if this pleases you. Thank you for looking--and be sure to check my auctions for other special items, including some unusual recent finds. SHIPPING is a FLAT $10 including insurance within
