TIFFANY Sterling Silver COCKTAIL or MARTINI SHAKER Unique, patented, two piece design.

Pattern number on piece places its first production at about 1888. The letter "T" in the marking indicates that it was produced during the tenure of Charles Tiffany, 1892 - 1902. This is a two piece shaker, rather than the conventional three piece in which a lid removes to allow for pouring the liquid into a glass. In this design the top piece has a movable ring on top which allows the shaker to be securely closed when pushed down. When pulled up, the shaker is ready for pouring. The unique way in which the shaker opens to pour the liquid from it was patented by Tiffany.

In good condition. The shaker has a few very slight bumps and bruises,most on the bottom of the piece, but nothing out of the ordinary for a cocktail shaker that is over 100 years old. There are no dark spots, deep scratches or other defects. The shaker has never been monogramed and has no monogram removal. It sits flat without any wobble. It has been hand polished to a beautiful shine with great patina.
