Tiffany & Co Sterling Rare Chow-Chow Piccalilli Set N/R Spoon & Fork A rare Tiffany & Co. sterling silver Chow-Chow or Piccalilli set. The spoon measures 6" in length. The fork measures slightly longer at 6 3/4" in length. The pattern is Faneuil . It (the pattern) was introduced in 1910. The fine delicately pierced bowl on the spoon measures slightly over 1" in width ..... see our seventh photo. Excellent condition. Each is monogrammed with the initials (looks like) " EBT ". The " T" is the center letter ..... see our eighth photo. Marked on the back of each piece " Tiffany & Co. Sterling " along with the letter " M" ..... see our fourth photo. The " M" near the mark indicates a Tiffany production period from 1907 to 1938. For reference and an illustrated example see the following reference books: " Sterling Flatware " by Hagan and " Tiffany Silver " by Carpenter, page 115 and " Sterling Silver Flatware " by Osterberg, 2nd edition, page 124. Chow-Chow was made with a number of vegetables and cooked in a mustard sauce. Piccalilli was a popular sweet relish made at the close of summer with green tomatoes. Piccalilli sets, consisting of a fork and a spoon were not made by all silver manufacturers. Tiffany & Company, was one of the few companies to make them.
