You are bidding on a "Tiffany Sterling Silver Vanity/Powder Jar". This is a very elegant item!!!! This measures approximately 3 inches high and approximately 3 inches in diameter. The lid is marked "Tiffany & Co. Makers Sterling". The research I have done shows this to be dated approximately 1910 to 1920, but not sure. This would make this over 90 Years Old!! It is in very good condition!!!! On top of the lid is a monogram of L.H. They use to monogram these expensive pieces but you may be able to take it to a Jeweler and have it removed, it looks to be very lightly monogrammed in the lid. The silver lid has a scalloped design around the edge. T is a little knob in the center of the lid that has a very tiny hole through the center of the knob from the Manufacturer. This could have been a way for the powder to breathe so that it wouldn't clump together or back in the day women wore hat pins and a very decorative pin from Tiffany's and the sharp part could slide in this very tiny hole and the jewel from the hat pin would stick up showing so everyone could see, just an idea!! The jar has no chips or cracks. The jar is Cut Glass with etchings of leaves and flowers around the entire jar.
