What a find. If you are familiar with Buster Brown and his dog Tige, then you are in for a treat. Buster Brown was a comic strip character created in 1902. The Buster probably came from Buster Keaton. His dog was named Tige after tiger and prounced (tygee). A salesman for Buster brown shoes persuaded his company to purchase the rights to the Buster Brown name. It was introduce in 1904 at the St Louis Worlds Fair and this is w this auction figure came from. He was also a talking animal and one of the first to talk. The dog is cast iron and has no foundry name i can find. He has the bug eyed terrier face and has no rust of any kind. very rare find. Tige was probably purchased or given away during the fair. I am not sure but know this piece is very rare and almost impossible to find. It is also in very good condition. He measures 5 1/2 inches tall and is five inches long. It could be used as a door stop because it weighs over one pound. Good luck bidding and may God bless.
