Tim Keyzers has always been a creative person, fascinated by the many avenues of expression. In the mid to late ‘90’s, as a skateboarder and punk house organizer (if there is such a thing), Tim experienced powerful insights about the capacity of D.I.Y. The experience of these concepts has had a profound influence on his style of expression and way of life. Tim first experienced glass in 2001 and quickly became an addict. After years of refining glass and business skills Tim took the position as General Manager of Frantz Art Glass and Supply where he served for 5 years. In 2010 Tim decided to pass the torch to pursue a creative path, leaving Frantz and building Oakland Bay Alchemy studio. Since then, Tim has been focusing on creating contemporary orbs as well as challenging how we share, display, explore and play with them. His work has been featured in magazines and exhibited in galleries and museums. Currently Tim is immersed in the glass subcultures and loving it.
This particular example of Tim's work is whats called a "Phantom Flower" in which Tim uses modern lampwork technique to achieve an almost ghost like effect. One of the new twists that Tim has added to his repertoire is copper electroforming
