One of Broadway Cares' most anticipated events is the annual Flea Market and Grand Auction which takes place every September (this year it is Sunday, September 23th) in Shubert Alley just off of Times Square. Many theatrical treasures can be found IF you are lucky enough to be in Times Square on that date. In an effort to reach out to those who are not able to make it into New York City but want to feel as though they are a part of the fun, we are running our fourth (hopefully annual) special "FLEABAY" auction through the month of September featuring at least 100 items that are typical of our true Broadway Flea Market finds. From authentic costumes to unique opening night gifts, from scripts to rare posters, many items featured are the only ones we have received. is your chance to get in on the "auction action" from the comfort of your very own home. To accommodate as many items as quickly as possible, these items will have a more brief description than our usual eBay items. We are tfore counting on our reputation as well as the discriminate tastes of our knowledgeable bidders to get the bids up. Get your bids in quick before they are going, going, ............GONE!
LOT #66 - Each autumn members of the theatre community come together in the center of the theatre district to give an annual concert previewing the Broadway Season of that particular year. This free concert called "Broadway On Broadway" features musical numbers from the various musicals currently running as well as numbers from musicals heading for Broadway. The show is hosted by various luminaries of the Great White Way and with the exception of New Year's Eve it is probably the best attended event in Times Square, confetti and all. This particular concert took place on September 9, 2001 and was hosted by Brooke Shields. This rare matted and framed poster from the event measures approximately 20" x 28" and best of all has been signed by many of the participants including members of the casts of Chicago, Kiss Me Kate, Rent, Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Mamma Mia!, The Music Man, The Full Monty, Blast, Urinetown: The Musical, The Producers, The Rocky Horror Show, 42nd Street and others. As a teaser we were able to find Louise Pitre, Karen Mason, Jennifer Cody, Judy Kaye, Tony Roberts, Manley Pope, Carolee Carmello, Mary Testa, Brad Oscar and Rebecca Luker.
