TIN FRICTION ICE CREAM FORD TRUCK DRIVER LINEMAR JAPAN Up for auction is a vintage tin friction 1950's Good Humor Ice Cream truck made by Linemar of Japan. The truck measures 4 1/2 inches long (11 cm.) and is in good, complete condition. The majority of the wear is on the base of the truck.. Despite the wear on the base, the friction motor works very well. The rest of the truck is in very good shape although t is some darkening of the chrome and some small scratches on the driver's side of the vehicle. T is also a tiny dent in the top of the truck. I don't believe that the hubcaps are original to the truck, although they certainly look right as they fit differently on the front and back wheels. I just mentioned all that was wrong with the truck but t is a lot that is right. It really is in very good condition with all the tiny details sharp and clear and very little wear on the body of the truck and driver. This is the smallest of the 1950's ice cream trucks made by Japanese toymakers but it is also one of the most detailed. It is really a remarkable little truck, small but mighty. It is pictured on page 19 of the wonderful Big Book of Tin Toy Cars, Commercial and Racing Vehicles with a rarity rating of 9 on a scale of 1 to 10...
