Nice rare tin litho windup clockwork toy made in W. Germany in the 1960s. The Silvermine Express (or the "Busy Diesel"). You wind up the clockwork motor in the yellow vehicle and put it in the little house at the end. When you flip the lever on the house to Run, the car goes downhill, and then engages a toothed ramp with its cog wheel and rises to the top. Then it tips down the ramp, rolls to the end, the ramp tips back, and the car coasts back down into the house. If you set the lever to Automatic, the car repeats its action until the spring runs down. When the car reaches the top of the ramp it pushes a little crane tram car on the top level to the end of its ramp. No key, the keys are available. When I wind the spring with a tiny plier, the motor works. The overall length is about 23 inches. Includes the original colorfully printed cardboard box. The box has no flaps on either end. It is fairly worn, but otherwise intact. The tin litho is in very nice shape, clean and colorful, lots of detail on every surface. I believe this toy is fairly rare. No reserve. The shipping would be parcel post, but I could ship by priority mail - the shipping for this would be $32.00. Shipping in double box. Thanks for looking!
