Circa 1833 " Marked Parker's Patent 1833 Boston" Three Caged Glass Panels (Lens) Lantern with black paint which is in good condition for age, 11' to the top of the lantern and 15 3/4" to top of the handle. Base is 4 'x 4". The Top of the lantern has a pattern of the Sun and Star on all 4 sides- the original handle and cap are in place and the. The bottom or base has tiny star shaped air holes that go from the very bottom up the side just a wee bit. The back side has a sliding panel that will raise up to allow inserting the candle. There is an old candle in there - I did pull the candle up enough to see that is has a early type spike holding the candle in place. I have looked at several of this lantern at big time auctions online and this is the best condition of any that is out there.
