Tintype CDV photo c.1870/Portrait handsome young Black man/African-American Album Album Album Album A rarity to find such an early c.1870 photographic image of a black man, well-dressed, nicely groomed in an American portrait. Chances are this young man lived through part of the American Civil War - though perhaps only a child at the time - as he appears to be in his late teens in the present CDV sized tintype in it's sealed original paper oval sleeve with gold trimmed bordering. Upon closer inspection the youth is also hand tinted a pink tone on his cheeks (!) and his lips. Unfortunately we do not have any ID on this well dressed young man.Successful bidders please note: INSURANCE on all items over $100 strongly recommended.
