Tintype Cream card mounting with ornamental pink rules - measures 3 x 4.5". Backing slip of thin beige paper glued on the back hold the tintype in place. Approximate 1/6-plate tintype, larger than the visible portion, which is a domed rectangle measuring 1.75 x 2". Standing portrait of a pretty little girl in a dropped-waist gown with a frothy lace collar, pantaloons, and very shiny high-buttoned shoes. Her light (blond) hair is pulled back sleekly, and she wears a pair of fine hoop earrings. She poses with one on a stack of books resting on a quilt-draped table. The quilt is handsome. The tintype is slightly dark, but nonetheless enough detail is visible that experts will no doubt be identify the quilt pattern. CONDITION: Good or better. The mounting has minor edge wear and a few brown age spots. The backing slip is in good shape. the tintype has one scuff on the child's right wrist area, and a few tiny nicks, but overall the preservation is good.
