I purchased this tintype long ago at an antique store in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. It is the largest tintype I've ever seen. I thought it represented "AMERICAN GOTHIC" very well in a unique image. It has a finger-like dent (about 1" x 1/2") just to the outside of the woman's folded arm and a few other small imperfections I wasn't surprised to find in an image which could be 120 or more years old. Interestingly, it was accompanied by a tiny tintype ( 3/4" x 7/8") of a much younger person (3rd scan). I have no idea who these people were, but I'm guessing the small tintype is of their child; not sure whether it's an image of a son or a daughter. The man seems to have a very large white hat on his lap. Free careful fully-insured Priority shipping within the USA. This is a United States of America sale only. Please do not bid on this tintype if you do not have a mailing address in the USA. Thank you.
