The snow isn't quite here yet in Minnesota but it's getting closer and soon it will be time for snowmen. This is a tiny primitive folk art fabric art snowman pillow. It would look great decorating a shelf or grouped with other winter or Christmas decor in a basket or bowl or with larger pillows on a small bench. Made with parts of repurposed vintage handquilted log cabin cutter quilt for the background and another quilt for the snowman, this tiny pillow celebrates a primitive winter season or Christmas. This is my own pattern and design and measures about 4 & 1/2 inches by about 5 & 1/2 inches. The snowman was cut freehand out of a vintage cutter quilt and then handsewed using a very primitive applique blanket stitch onto the background made out of part of a vintage handquilted log cabin quilt block. I sewed a tattered scarf onto the snowman that was made out of part of the same log cabin quilt and added a handstitched nose and mouth, tiny beads for his eyes and 2 new buttons down his front. I added 18 vintage mother of pearl buttons under and around the snowman for snow sparkle. The quilt piece is soft with age. You can still see all of the old handquilting across this tiny pillow and across the snowman.
