Up for auction is an antique fencing tool. This one is a RATTLER by JACOB HAISH. This is a RARE wire stretcher. Does not have the grip that goes on the end of a rope. It measures 10 inches long plus the grip not including the handles. And about 4 inches across the shaft area. The handles are 10 inches long. Solid cast iron. I see no breaks or repairs. It is in "as found" condition, so expect the original rust and dust. Rusting has taken a toll on the name, which is on the handle. It is basicly unreadable. Once cleaned, it would make a nice addition to your wire tool collection or a neat conversation piece in the antique room. If you have the tool book by Smith & Smith, it is number 222. It is listed as having a patent date of August 15, 1882. A low starting price for a nice RARE tool. If you are familiar with wire tools, you will know just how rare this RATTLER is! If you have questions, please ask early. I encourage insurance, but your option. Will combine shipping when possible. Thanks for looking.
