TOAD OF TOAD HALL BY A A MILNE (BASED ON THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS BY KENNETH GRAHAME) FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING Methuen & Co., Ltd., London, 1929. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: very good. First edition. A Very Good copy of the first trade edition, first printing, with the top edge gilt (minor wear, small discoloration to front board, a bare touch of sunning to the spine, expected aging to gilt of page block top, typical offsetting to the endpapers, quite small library sticker to lower front pastedown, top edge gilt, front and bottom page block edges foxed) in a Very Good dust jacket which shows some of the foxing common to this jacket as well as a short closed tear to the upper rear flap fold, complete with the 8 pages of advertisements to the rear of the book, together with the rare 4 page advertisement for Milne's books loosely laid in. As Milne noted, the book has "enough of Kenneth Grahame in it to appease his many admirers, and enough of me in it to justify my name upon the title page. A nice copy.
