Two beautiful Chinese antique cups and saucers 1) A Beautiful 18 th. century Tabacco Leaf Cup and Saucer This extravagant design was originally made in China, probably for export to the Portuguese and Brazilian markets. Of all the 18th-century dinnerware patterns, this was the most highly prized.This according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This kind of porcelain was made in a short period of time during the Qianlong reign and is very rare. Most of the tobacco leaf objects offered on the market are from the 19e and 20e century. Condition: Cup: excellent, besides a very small chip of 1 mm. and a clean hairline, no restoration. Saucer; some fleabites, three very small and clean hairlines and a bottom star crack which is almost invisible to see on the top side. A small chip ( 1mm. ) with little loose of email on the outside. no restorations. . Cup; 4 cm. diameter and 8 cm height. Saucer; 12 cm diameter and 3 cm height. 2) A Hexagonal Cup and Saucer, Kangxi Period A cup and saucer in blue and white with 6 sides. Both objects show long Elisa which is translated from the Dutch name lange lijs. The nice blue color is typical for the Kangxi period ( 1662 – 1722 ). Condition; excellent , only some fleabites at the rims. Cup : 7 cm. diameter and 4 cm. height Saucer: 11 cm. diameter and 2 cm. height.
