This is a rather unique collection of Hiroshigeâe(tm)s masterwork âeoeThe Fifty Three Stages of Tokaido.âe It is an accordion fold hardcover book with 54 full color woodblock prints published by Takamizawa Mokubansha in the early 1920s. It measures about 7 1⁄4âe x 4 3⁄4âe (18.5cm x 12cm). Each individual woodblock is about 5 1⁄2âe x 3 1⁄2âe (14cm x 9cm). These are high quality prints that have retained their brilliant color and sharpness. None are ripped, marked on, or trimmed. One print is missing (no. 40 Chirifu). I have seen a number of these productions, but most are post-war issues of vastly lower quality than the rare early editions which were produced in limited quantities. This volume is also unusual because of its green covers and unique cover artwork. If t are experts out t that have particular insight into this subject, please feel free to chide and correct the novice [that would be me]. T is some cover wear, but none of the mounting boards are separated and t are no wormholes or markings on any of the prints. Commodity reissues of this collection are commonly offered in the US$175 ~ $250 range and up. Treat yourself to a rare early edition with an opening bid of US$39.95 and NO HIDDEN RESERVE. Guaranteed to be an authentic period piece or your money back including shipping. Your book will ship within 1
