I am downsizing and getting rid of a lot of my collectibles. This Tom Clark gnome was purchased in the early 1980’s. I bought a few of these gnomes before the Hallmark store selling them burned down. This one is marked “PEARSON” and has 1981 written in the resin. Under the date is a marking which I think is “MWE”. It is 6 ½ inches tall. It is in excellent condition with no visible cracks or chips. I do not have any paperwork or box.Found out some more information about this gnome. A collector shared the following with me: " The one shown here is actually called Bart . Odd that they would turn up in a store in Ohio. These were never released as pieces to be sold to the public. It's my understanding that although they are original pieces done by Tom that they were "finished" and named by someone else. I could never get an answer on who that someone was. I have several other pieces that were named accordingly. Often pieces like these were sent to stores unknowingly by the warehouse system that was in Cairns Studio. I'm interested in them mostly for their variation to the original.
