Offered is a very early, original photograph of the Tomboy Mine District, in Savage Basin, near Telluride, Colorado. Clear image of the mine buildings, bunkhouse, assay office, and tram buildings. Today t is only a few piles of broken timbers and rusty iron to show what was once a thriving mining community above the town of Telluride. Appears to be about 1900 era. Reverse is printed Walker Art Studio Montrose, Colo., and a number 1738. Number likley indiates a photo negative number. From a private collection of historic San Juan area photographs. Thanks for looking. On taking a closer look at this image, (and having an ebayer with better eyes email me to look closer...) it is in reality the Red Mountain entrance to the Idarado Mine. The mine buildings are still t today in part, just on the north side of Red Mountain Pass. Thanks!
