{top!}-> DELFT ARNHEM RAM 6" BONBONNIERE DISH - 1940'S ITEM: Beautiful covered candy or dresser dish manfactured by N. V. Plateelbakkerij Ram from Arnhem in the eastern part of The Netherlands. This dish is more than 65 years old, and is still in perfect condition. The Ram pottery operated from 1935 until 1945, and during that time produced some of the highest quality blue and white Delftware. Many collectors of Delftware are not familiar with this manufacturer, but this plate is special. It has been wonderfully painted in the classic Delft blue color scheme, with a wonderful floral design on the top, and an excellent border on the dish itself. The rim of the dish is scalloped, and the area around the handle on the lid is slightly raised. The bottom has the Ram logo, the artist's initials, and the item code. SIZE: Over 6" (15 cm) in diameter, and standing over 3" tall. DATE OF MANUFACTURE: No date code appears on the bottom. Items of this quality are older, probably made just before 1940, when inflation at the end of the war forced cost-cutting and mass production techniques on most potteries in The Netherlands. I'm told that this vase has been in our family collection for over 60 years. CONDITION: Excellent, with no chips, cracks, flakes, or repairs. Unless described above, the light spots on the pictures are from our photo read more
