THIS IS A RARE AND VERY COLLECTABLE SILVERPLATE AND RUBY GLASS OPEN SALT CELLAR. THIS PIECE IS MARKED FOR THE ACME SILVER COMPANY OF TORONTO, CANADA CIRCA 1880'S. THIS UNIQUE PIECE FEATURES A FACETED RUBY GLASS SALT THAT SITS IN A DECORATIVE SILVERPLATE HOLDER. THE HOLDER HAS A RIBBED BASE AND SITS ON FOUR SCROLL AND FLORAL FEET. IT HAS A LEAF AND BERRY CURVED HANDLE WITH SPOON SLOT. ALSO INCLUDED IS A 2 1/4" SILVER SPOON THAT IS NOT ORIGINAL. THIS RARE PIECE IS ABOUT 3 1/4" X 2 1/2" AND IS 4 1/2" TO THE TOP OF THE HANDLE. CONDITION IS GOOD. OTHER THAN A COUPLE OF PIN POINT NICKS THE GLASS IS FREE OF CHIPS OR CRACKS. THERE IS SOME MODEST PLATE WEAR BUT NO BREAKS OR BENDS. IT COULD USE A LITTLE MORE POLISHING.
