This auction is for a beautiful circa 1850s 1/6th plate daguerreotype photograph of a mother with an arm around her young son. The sitters are identified inside the case as Susan Pollock and William E. Pollock. Their cheeks have been slightly-tinted pink, and the mother's jewelry has been tinted gold (with slight tarnish spots around those areas, as well). The image retains its original seals, and the plate is in excellent condition. The spot that appears on her cheek in my photos is only on the glass. The image is housed in a full geometric and floral leather case with a split spine. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
