JEMEZ PUEBLO FRIENDSHIP POT NATIVE AMERICAN ART BY: JUDY TOYA This hand coiled friendship pot was created by award winning Native American Artist, Judy Toya. The pottery measures approximately 5.75" tall to the tip of the children's heads. It is about 4.75" tall from the base to the top of the opening of the vase. Four clay children that measure about 3.5" long are peering into the vase. The opening at the top of the vase is approximately 3" diameter and the base is about 2" diameter. The artwork was intricately handpainted and hand coiled using clay from the sacred grounds of the Jemez Pueblo of New Mexico. Judy uses all natural slips and fires her pottery outdoors. This piece is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks.Judy Toya is an award winning Jemez Pueblo artist and is a member of the Water Clan. She is the daughter of world renown potter Mary E. Toya and of Casimiro Toya. Judy Toya Born in 1953 and was taught by her late mother Mary. Mary's artwork has been on display in the Smithsonian Museum and in many museums and galleries around the world. Judy has followed in her mother's footsteps. She has won First, Second, and Third Place ribbons from numerous art shows and specializes in making friendship pots, storytellers, nativity sets, and Christmas ornaments.
