Thirty UNIQUE Mounted Railroad Stereo Slides
TRACKSIDE AMERICA Shot 1967 -1980 The stereo slides are fully marked as to locations, equipment, etc. Typical detail includes: "The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific R.R. #643, east bound turning south, parked in the yards" and "With S. Shore R.R. cars # 108 & 105 parked by the station, a north west bound Penn-Central Co. single unit diesel-electric freight train passes them." and " The Pullman-Standard Co's #8, a B+B type electric-locomotive performing switching duties near Chicago Street" and "A Chicago, Burlington & Quincy R.R. Co. single unit diesel-electric freight train west bound at Neb. State Hy.10" One the reverse the date is stamped and t is technical including film speed, shutter speed, and f-stop. These slides are shot on 35mm film however they are stereo slides ...that is, two slightly different views of the same event (see photo number two). When viewed through a stereo projector they look 3D. They can also be scanned--as I did for this listing--or mounted individually. That would give you an extra slide for a railfriend! The pictures are about 7/8" square and they are mounted in cardboard holders about 4" wide x 1 1/2" tall. The stereo slides were shot with a 1950's vintage, manual REALIST stereo camera. Though state-of-the-art at the time, pictures may be over or under exposed, etc. These are original slides...t are no copies. This is the only set of these slides in existence. Full rights to these images passes to you upon payment of your high bid. Unless you have a time machine this will be your only chance to own these historic stereo slides.
