TRADE SECRETS III (Revised 1999) A basic "how-to" guide for the model horse enthusiast BY CHRIS NANDELL I really hate to let go of this wonderful guide to model horse customizing, but real-horse activities are now my primary focus, so u p for auction is TRADE SECRETS III written by Chris Nandell. This guide is 146 pages in length and is contained in a binder so you can open it flat and it will stay open while you work, and so you may easily include any notes or supplemental material that you might find useful. This is the revised 1999 edition (Second Printing 2003). The first two editions were published in 1985 and 1990 and were limited to only 100 copies each. Filled with instructional text , diagrams, and black & white photos, this is an excellent guide to customizing model horses. TRADE SECRETS III includes information and instruction on how to stock your workbench and how to begin customizing a model; repositioning the model; fillers and and how to use them; prepping, priming, and base coats; basic painting techniques using acrylics; basic airbrush techniques; basic painting techniques using oils; hairing; detailing and special effects; and more. TRADE SECRETS III includes information about painting solid-colored horses and painting various coat colors or patterns such as dapple and fleabitten greys, Appaloosas, pintos, roans, duns, and grullas. If you'd like to try your hand at customizing model horses or if you just would like to find out more about how it is done, TRADE SECRETS III by Chris Nandell would be a wonderful addition to your library or a great companion to your model horse collection.
