Up for auction are Two Very Nice Vintage Illustrated Bartending Guides, Circa 1948 to 1959. First is, Bartender's Guide by Trader Vic. NY: Garden City Books, 1948. 437 pages. Filled to the brim with over 1,500 recipes for the professional and home bartender--written by the Master Mixer himself, Trader Vic this includes the makings and other useful information presented in a writing style as pungent as one of Vic's own Gin Slings--from the famous Alexanders, and his Barbary Coast Highball, to the Oom Paul Cocktail, Rum Stinger, to Zombies and everything in between--Fixes, Fizzes, Sloe Gin Cocktails, Hot Drinks, Sours, Wine Cups, and much, much more!!! In addition to the magnificent drink recipes, this useful reference guide also includes sections dedicated to how to be a good host and how to handle guests who can't handle your drinks including, "Phonies, Check-Dodgers or the Perils of Bartending"..."People That Bartenders Have Learned Not to Like"..." sections dedicated to drink, plus more...A complete Index is also provided.
