Shape of the piece is very nice and designed very beautifully.. It is mainly used for cutting betel nuts which is used in Pan (leaf to chew) in India. chewing pan (leaf) is a common habit among lot of Indians. workmanship of this piece is very nice. This is an old piece, and made of metal brass, the blade is made of iron and remained a proper shape. This is not so much in use. Few parts of the birds on the upper side of the piece are broken .It is a good piece for collectors , since the type of this kind fall into rare category of nut cutters.
