This is Retired Trail of Painted Ponies Navajo Blanket 2E/3401. Pony was a display pony. Pony is in perfect condition. Pony comes with original black box (shelf wear, writting of pony name on side of box),storytag(slight wear), and styrofoam form. Artist Barbara Tomasko Quimby moved to Wagon Mound, New Mexico, w she fell in love with the native cultures and people of the West. Admiring the artistry displayed by Navajo women weaving fabulous blankets with thread on loom, she was moved to create this tribute, incorporating the color and design "of day and night, of deserts flat and mountain height".
