Traite De La Chimie Alchemy Chemistry Book Glaser This treatise on chemistry was originally published in 1663 by noted 17th-century pharmaceutical chemist, Christophle Glaser (or Christophe, or Christofle). Traite De La Chimie is an important book in the history of alchemy and modern chemistry. Dedicated to Antoine Vallot, the first physician of the King of France.First edition was published by Apothiquaire Ordinaire du Roy, Paris, France, in 1663. Between 1663 and 1710, the book went through numerous French editions, and was also translated into English and German. Given the dedication to Vallot, this appears to be the second edition of the book, based on our research. This book is in French, spanning 439 pages, with additional blank pages in the back. Some of these blank pages have been used by a long-ago owner to record notes. Book measures 6" x 3.375" x 1.375". Includes one engraved folding plate representing chemical instrumentation. Cover is leather, spine is gilt in six compartments in raised bands. Impressed book title is faintly legible on the spine. This book appears to contain all of its original pages, though some of the blank note pages have been cut from the book. The marbled leaves on the inside front and back covers have sustained some damage over the years, but the inside pages are universally legible in their entirety. read more
