Up for auction is a beautiful 1959 Travler Radio, Model T201. It has five tubes and is AM broadcast only. You will not fine a nicer example of this iconic 1950's radio anyw The photographs do represent this radio well but, I believe it actually looks much nicer than depicted This radio has been completely restored, having had all the tubes replaced with New Old Stock ones. All of the wax capacitors as well as the electrolytics have been replaced with new dependable mylar ones. Any resistors which were out of tolerance were also replaced. Of course the entire chassis was meticulously cleaned with compressed air, various specialized cleaning solvents and Q-Tips. All moving parts were thoroughly cleaned and lubricated with the appropriate electrical chemicals. A new cord was installed and the radio was aligned for maximum selectivity/sensitivity. The cabinet was cleaned and hand-polished. No external antenna is required since it has the built-in loop antenna located on the inside of the original back. It now plays as nice as it looks. If you know your fifties era radios, you are probably familiar with the highly collectable Philco and Truetone boomerang style ones. Well, this little fifties jewel is seen far less often then either of those radios, and is just as desirable--especially in pink. I love and own both the Philco and Truetone
