I have a really old treadle lathe that I brought fromeBay a few years back, it's very heavy it's mostly comprised of wood but it has a metal flywheel which makes up the majority of the weight.I was told it was made about 100 years ago by the sellers great grandad with parts that where available at that time. The previous seller had carried out some sympathetic restoration on it, I was hoping to get more use out of it but never really find time. It's complete and comes with some chisels I just want it to go to a good home or someone who collects this sort of thing.I don't have a photo to post yet as I want to give it a clean down first.I think the frame has settled and needs some adjustment as the flywheel touches it sometimes. You will need a van or trailer to collect this and some strong friends as I am unable to help due to recent surgery I can't lift heavy stuff.Really low start price for an item that could be 100 years old or more, as I said the seller showed me furniture his great grandad made on it at that time.Posted with eBay Mobile Treadle Lathe , believed to be over a hundred years old.158cm long bed, 123cm tall Flywheel is about 2ft diameter and is solid cast iron, the crank is also cast iron, the bed comes off the frame it's held with screws and bolts. The frame is cast iron.I am happy to dismantle it ready for collection, read more
