The treasures included in this rare, very limited medallic series were chosen by seven Conservateurs - each representing one of the seven different departments of The Louvre. The world-renowned masterpieces they selected inspired this superb Treasures Of The Louvre Collection Each medal weighs an average of 1.28+ troy ounces and is 45 mm round; the medals were weighed individually on an electronic digital scale for a total weight of 30,830.6 grains OR a total Sterling Silver weight of 64.23 ozt guaranteed..!! The collection is arranged in an impressive display album with 10 medals per page - there are five pages for a total of 50 medals. The collection is complete and the medals are in mint condition and sealed in protective acrylic cases; the album is in very good condition. The album's front page is embossed: "The Conservateurs’ Collection Of The Treasures of The Louvre; In Solid Sterling Silver First Edition Proof Set; Struck By The Franklin Mint"; the entire collection looks like it arrived from the Mint yesterday. Listed elsewhere online for $3,000.00 retail! The front of each medal bears an engraved likeness of the work of art; the obverse provides a description of the art work and its creator (if known) surrounded by winged angelic beings with the inscription Tresors Du Louvre at the bottom. On the rim of each medal is stamped - sterling, C, f, 75. The medals are in proof condition with absolutely no tarnishing .
