Well, nothing like starting the New Year off by purchasing a great piece for your home and we definitely have that ! A One-Of-A-Kind treenware bowl. This early bowl has the most incredible repair work I have ever seen on a bowl! Please take a close look at all the pictures to truly appreciate the craftmanship. Also take notice of the "patch" done on the bowl. T is a patch of work etched with the words - Stockton Sales - Restored - 1974 - A. Olson - Jamestown, N.Y. Obviously acknowledging the restorationg done to the bowl in 1974. A very wide double rim is also a great feature of this piece. I am not certain but based on viewing other auctions for early bowls I believe this might possible be a burled bowl? Not sure - Just an incredible piece of Americana being offered to you today. The size of the impressive bowl also makes it a rare and unusual find. The bowl measures a very large out-of round- circumference of 21+" one way and 20+" the other. Definitely signs of a very early bowl with appropriate shrinkage. Nice depth also of just under 7". I cannot find any fault with this beauty at all. As always, ask any questions prior to bidding and I'll answer them asap. Also, New York state residents must pay appropriate sales tax if a valid tax ID cannot be provided for the purchase. Also I have shown a few items I will be listing later today.
